Inform the next step →Instead of an unstructured wait in isolation, students can be guided through what happened, what could change, and what they can learn next. Staff receive information to review — not automated decisions.
Guided by a calm, structured conversation.
Restora began with a question drawn from everyday school life: what if time away from a lesson could become a genuine opportunity to reflect, learn and move forward?
When a student is removed from a lesson or spends time in detention or internal isolation, there is often an important opportunity to help them understand what happened. Yet meaningful reflection and continued learning can be difficult to provide consistently while staff respond to the many demands of a busy school day.
Pastoral teams also spend significant time collecting student accounts, following up incidents and identifying where further support is needed. These are important conversations and decisions, but the processes around them can be time-consuming.
That experience sparked the idea for Restora: an AI-supported platform being developed to make restorative reflection more accessible, keep learning moving and give staff clearer information to review.
The aim is not to replace teachers, pastoral staff or professional judgement. It is to give them another practical tool to support young people at the moments that matter.
